About Me

Hi, I’m Aira Andrin

I’m from Cebu City, and like many great adventures, my hiking journey started with simple curiosity.

Back in 2023, when I was just 20 years old, I decided to go hiking alone. I didn’t have any hiking experience, fancy gear, or a detailed plan. All I had was a TikTok video that led me to the famous Starbucks viewpoint in Guadalupe Mountain.

To be honest, my original plan was only to stay around the Good Shepherd area because I had no idea where the trail actually went. But when I saw other hikers heading toward the viewpoint, I decided to follow them. Thankfully, I made it there.

I still remember that morning clearly. The air was cool, a light fog covered parts of the mountain, and the view was unlike anything I had seen before. Standing there, I felt something I couldn’t quite explain—a sense of peace, freedom, and wonder.

Then I heard about the Spartan Trail.

Once again, I didn’t really know where I was going, but I met a group of hikers who were heading there and joined them. Along the way, I made new friends, shared stories with strangers, and discovered a side of myself that I had never known before.

That was the day my love for hiking truly began.

Since then, hiking, trekking, and camping have become more than hobbies for me. They have become a way of life.

One of the biggest lessons the mountains have taught me is that beautiful views are not meant to be handed to us easily. They must be earned. Every climb requires patience, perseverance, and the right mindset. The mountain doesn’t care about your status, your background, or how many followers you have. It simply asks whether you’re willing to keep moving forward.

That’s one of the reasons I created Hike Aura.

I wanted a place where I could share the profound experiences I’ve had outdoors and inspire others to discover what the mountains have to offer. Hike Aura isn’t just about destinations. It’s about growth, adventure, friendship, and finding moments that remind us how amazing life can be.

What keeps me going is simple: being outdoors helps me appreciate life more. Every hike reminds me that many of the problems we worry about are small compared to the gift of being alive and having the chance to experience the world around us.

Two philosophies guide how I live:

Carpe Diem — Seize the day.

Memento Mori — Remember that life is temporary.

Together, they remind me to live fully, embrace challenges, and appreciate every opportunity to create meaningful memories.

If there’s one thing I hope visitors take away from Hike Aura, it’s this:

You can do this too.

You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need expensive equipment. You don’t need to come from a certain background. You only need curiosity, courage, and the willingness to take that first step.

Life is meant to be experienced, not just observed.

And above all, I believe the most important thing a person can be is kind—to others, to nature, and to themselves.

Thank you for being here, and I hope Hike Aura inspires you to start your own adventure.

Adventure starts with a single step. Let’s explore the outdoors together.
